Take That Announce Progress Live 2011 UK Tour

26th October 2010

After weeks of speculation and rumours, Take That today confirmed that they will undertake a huge summer tour in 2011 as a five-piece, with Robbie Williams now firmly back in the band. The tour, which was announced at a specially arranged press conference at the Savoy Hotel in London, will be named Progress Live 2011 after the band's new album, which is due to be released next month.

Gary Barlow got the press conference underway by saying “No rumours this morning everyone, just the facts, Take That are going back on tour”, which was followed by a round of applause. Each band member then proceeded to announce the individual dates for the tour.

The tour will begin in the North East with a show at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland on 30th May. Take That will then perform four shows at the City of Manchester Stadium between 3rd - 7th June. The tour then visits the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on 14th June and Croke Park in Dublin on 18th June. Hampden Park in Glasgow will host a further two shows on 22nd and 23rd June. Take That fans in the Midlands will get to see them perform at Villa Park in Birmingham on 27th June. Take That will then round-off the UK leg of their tour with four huge shows at Wembley Stadium between 1st - 5th July.

It was initially rumoured that as many as 58 dates could be announced, so it appears that Take That have possibly held back a number of dates for a future announcement.

Earlier in the week Take That were inducted into the Hall Of Fame at this year's Q Awards. With their new single The Flood due out 7th November, and their new album Progress due out a week later, this is an exciting time for Take That and their army of fans.

Update 29th October 2010: Take That have announced extra dates at each of the venues on their summer tour. The 11 extra dates will be performed in Sunderland (31st May), Manchester (8th, 10th, 11th June), Cardiff (15th June), Dublin (19th June), Glasgow (24th June), Birmingham (28th June) and Wembley (6th, 8th, 9th July).

Update 29th October 2010: Due to unprecedented levels of demand, Ticketmaster have announced that they have sold out of all tickets to Take That's Progress Live 2011 tour, with more than 1 million tickets being sold in just one day! The band are said to be "speechless" and "truly and utterly shocked" at the speed of the ticket sales.

Update 7th December 2010: Take That have announced four extra stadium dates as part of their Progress Live 2011 tour.
