Jesus Christ Superstar

Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's legendary rock classic Jesus Christ Superstar first opened in London's West End in 1972. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of this incredibly successful rock opera, a first-ever UK arena tour took place in the autumn of 2012.

During the tour, musical comedian Tim Minchin played the role of Judas Iscariot, whilst former Spice Girl Melanie C played the role of Mary Magdalene. BBC Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles played the role of King Herod, in his major stage debut. The lead role of Jesus was played by Ben Forster, after he was chosen by the public in a primetime ITV talent show titled Superstar.

Following the huge success of its inaugural UK arena tour, Jesus Christ Superstar will return to arenas across the UK in March 2013 with the same cast.
