
De Montfort Hall is a concert hall located in Leicester city centre, close to Victoria Park. The hall is operated by Leicester city council who use the venue to stage a wide variety of events, including pop music, jazz, ballet, comedy and opera. The venue consists of the concert hall itself, with an indoor capacity for 2,200, plus an outdoor amphitheatre set in the surrounding grounds, with a capacity for 7,000.
The Philharmonia Orchestra have been resident at Leicester's De Montfort Hall since 1997, saying that it is one of the best spaces in which to play music in England.
As well as hosting a wide variety of individual events, De Montfort Hall also stages two annual outdoor festivals; the Big Session Festival in June and the Summer Sundae in August.
